Caris Investment Partners is a California registered investment advisor ("RIA") solely focused on helping our clients enhance their investment returns and preserve their capital. We are a privately held corporation headquartered in North San Diego specializing in Advanced Portfolio Management for select clients that are looking for more than what a generic Wealth Manager can provide. Our background allows us to offer clients true portfolio management services unburdened by large firm parameters. We leverage years of experience advising Institutional Investors on their equity portfolios to bring our clients a disciplined, methodical approach in protecting and growing their hard earned capital. We are passionate about maintaining close relationships with our clients, closely monitoring their investments, and providing encompassing transparency with how we manage their wealth. Darren Caris

Mr. Caris has 30 years of Investment Management Experience. He is a former proprietary trader with significant equity research experience, and founder/CEO of Caris & Company, consistently one of the highest rated Research firms on Wall Street. Mr. Caris began his career at Gruntal & Co. as a proprietary trader. He joined Torrey Pines Securities as Vice President in 1996, where he created an institutional sales and equity trading infrastructure for the firm. In 1999, he joined Granite Financial Group as a partner and was responsible for managing and growing Capital Markets. In 2002, Mr. Caris formed Caris & Company in an effort to create Wall Streets leading research-driven boutique investment bank. As CEO, Mr. Caris focused on the firms award winning research product, creating a global distribution presence in London, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and San Diego, and focused on advising small-cap to multi-billion-dollar companies in Semiconductors, Retail, Health Care, Software, Energy, Biotechnology, and Media. Caris & Company was the recipient of over 70 different Starmine awards (Including #1 Stock Picker and #3 overall Globally), over 50 Wall Street Journal awards, and top honors in numerous Greenwich surveys before being acquired by B. Riley & Company in December of 2012. Since then, Mr. Caris has spent two years advising Sovereign Governments before returning to his life passion of money management.
Mr. Caris holds a degree in economics from the University of California at San Diego. In his spare time, Mr. Caris likes to spend time with his children, surf, and teach martial arts. He has passed the Series 7, 24, 55, 63, and 65 exams.
